The Disaster Help Network is pleased to announce that the health departments covering San Francisco, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Reno, Tucson, Dallas, Ft. Worth, and many others are using our volunteer recruiting and coordination systems to handle bio-terror response staff planning, recruiting, coordingation, communication and reporting. In each case their local web sites are operating as a public portal into the system. In several cases the departments are using DHN to handle both volunteers and civic employees.
In Arizona we network 8 counties which cover 90% of the state's population. Each county has its own database and web page but all of these are networked "behind the scenes" so that the counties can share resources and needs in an event. This is what the "Disaster Help Network" is all about.
Finally, DHN is compliant with ESAR-VHP and other national protocols for volunteer credentialing, data sharing and staff planning. Our services include consulting on how to plan for getting the right people to the right places at the right time. To assist in this we already network with over 1300 non-profit agencies, universities and corporations across the country who utilize the same software. Integration with Disaster Volunteer Reception Centers is also possible.
