The Disaster Help Network provides the ONLY disaster volunteer system that integrates web and PC databases. For day-to-day operations, volunteer recruiting and call center support, most of our customers prefer eCoordinator, our web based software for volunteer management. However, since we never know when the Internet or the power will fail during a response we provide a fully functional PC based system that looks and operates exactly like eCoordinator. This PC technology, called Coordinator CS, works great for Disaster Volunteer Reception Centers that are set up "on the scene" to handle spontaneous unaffiliated volunteers as well as security processing for trained volunteers.

When the Internet becomes available again you can synchronize the PC software with the Internet databases that are handling recruiting, processing, scheduling and management of volunteers outside the immediate disaster area. Call centers can utilize either the PC or Internet software to handle incoming registrations, assignments and even scheduling of volunteers across the network. Volunteers can accept assignments on-line, over the phone or at the Disaster Volunteer Reception Center. Since the entire system is inter-connected you can track which volunteers have accepted different assignments without regard to how they were recruited.

Network with other agencies

External agencies with whom you partner can also utilize either eCoordinator or Coordinator CS, depending on what works best for them. Each of these groups can customize the system to use their own criteria for volunteer matching (availability, skills, etc.) and/or adopt a community-wide disaster volunteer standard. This makes it so they can operate their day-to-day programs and also provide their volunteers and staff to assist during an emergency without having to re-register the volunteers in a separate database.
